IRS Letter: If you receive
an IRS letter proposing a change to your tax return or a letter that
you do not understand, please call us and plan to provide a copy of
your notice to us for investigation and explanation. A letter proposing
a change to your tax return is usually a CP2000 and is considered a
correspondence audit. We will explain the issues and the records required
to resolve the issues.
IRS Audit Letter: If you receive a
letter from the IRS explaining that they are auditing your tax return,
please contact us immediately. We will discuss the audit process and
explain what records are needed and how to organize them. We charge
an hourly fee for audit representation. We recommend for the best results,
to allow us to meet with the auditor.
IRS Billing Notice: If you receive
a bill from the IRS and do not understand, please contact us to explain
the bill and go over the options for payment.
Franchise Tax Board (FTB): Franchise
Tax Board is responsible for collecting income tax from California
taxpayers. If you receive any correspondence from Franchise Tax Board,
please contact us and forward a copy of the notice. We will review
the notice, research the issues, and let you know what needs to be
done to resolve the issues.
Employment Development Department (EDD): EDD
is responsible for collecting California payroll taxes and administering
unemployment and disability benefits. If you are contacted by EDD and
you do not understand, please contact us to review the notice.
Board of Equalization (BOE): The Board
of Equalization is responsible for collecting California sales and
use tax along with excise taxes on various commodities. If you are
contacted by BOE and do not understand, please contact us to review
the notice. |
